Idella Purnell letter to Will Orton Tewson [manuscript], no year January 23.

Purnell responds at length to Tewson's request for the most beautiful single line of poetry in the English language, suggesting lines from Witter Bynner and Ellen Glines. She then notes that Bynner is in Chapala Mexico, Vachel Lindsay is in Los Angeles lecturing on "Poetry and the movies," Robert Nichols is in Hollywood in the "movies" and she, the editor of Palms, is in Los Angeles in charge of the Foreign Book Department of the Los Angeles Public Library, while David Greenwood, the associate editor is in San Bernadino California.

Nicholas Vachel Lindsay was born in Springfield, IL. He studied in Ohio, Chicago, and New York and acquired a reputation as a poet and lecturer.
